Hi! I am Jeannie Johnson. I was born with a type of Spina Bifida and what has eventually turned into severe Scoliosis or curvature of the spine. Having been in a wheelchair since the age of twelve, I have had a challenging and often difficult life. But, I have always tried to have a positive attitude. My faith in God has helped immensely. He has given me strength, a loving family, and a great since of humor, three things that will get you far in this often scary and unpredictable world. In the last few years, I have become what I like to call “medically retired”. When I was out in the world, people often told me that I was an inspiration to them. I graduated college, was a teacher, and became a mother. Now that I can’t get out as much, I still would like to be useful and an inspiration to others. My life has had many twists and turns. And over the years, from the time I was a teenager to the present day, I have documented this roller coaster of a life into poetry. Whether they are about faith, love, humor, world events, or they just come from my imagination, I have always wanted to share all my poems, past and present, with as many people as possible, hoping that they will give you hope, inspiration, laughter and, yes, the occasional tear. I want to share with you thoughts that will make you think and feel, and that you will hopefully enjoy. This is just my own small attempt of hopefully making the world a less scary and more encouraging place, knowing that we are all in this together and we are never alone.
