The Faith That We Hope

I prayed for healing,
But it didn’t come.
Why does God only
Answer yes to some?

I prayed for protection,
But it never came.
Was it something I did?
Was God only to blame?

I don’t have an answer.
I can’t explain.
Buy I can’t let that
Cause my faith to wain.

For faith is a hope
Of what we can not see.
There is always a reason
Things are happening to me.

For God has a plan
And works in mysterious ways.
He never promised us
Perfect, struggle free days.

But he did promise this,
If we have faith and hope,
He will hold our hand
Or throw us a rope.

To comfort, to guide,
To help us through
All of the most difficult
Things we go through.

Though we’re not in control,
Here is the thing,
We never really know
What new directions might bring.

New chances to inspire
When health goes downhill,
New opportunities to grow
When we have to rebuild.

Even though we might struggle,
We must stay the course.
For until we are dead,
It could always be worse.

And when our prayers are answered
With a hopeful yes,
We must remember those
Who have not yet been blessed.

To comfort, to guide,
To help them through
All of the most difficult things
They are still going through.

For we might be that hand,
We might be that rope,
That God uses to give others
The faith that they hope.
