Many Americans like to shoot up the sky,
Even a week before the 4th of July!

Many Americans like to hear the loud booms,
Even if it shakes all the walls in the rooms.

Many Americans like to fire up their new grills,
Even if they don’t possess any skills.

Many Americans like a dog to eat and a drink to chug,
Even if surrounded by menacing ants and bugs.

Many Americans like to sit close in the dark,
And wait for the night to crackle and spark.

Many Americans enjoy a hot summer night,
To look on with others to see such a sight!

Even though on this 4th, you won’t need a sweater,
I’ve always liked another 4th better!
