The “If I Were…” Poems

If you were an apple
And I were a tree,
Would you like
To hang on me?

If you were the lamp
And I were the light,
Would are love
Be very bright?

If you were the ship
And I were the sea,
Would you like
To sail on me?

If I were the foot
And you were the shoe,
Could I gently
Slip into you?

If you were the mouth
And I were the tongue,
Could I travel
Down to a lung?

If I were the lyrics
And you were the tune,
We could make
All the lovers spoon.

If I were the drink
And you were the lips,
Would you like
To take a few sips?

If I were the hat
And you were the hair,
We could have a love affair.

If I were the tie
And you were the neck,
Could I give
Your skin a peck?

If I were the peddles
And you were the Schwinn,
I could make
Your wheels really spin!

If you were the bed
And I were the sheets
Wouldn’t the night
Be very sweet!

If you were the coffee
And I were the cream,
I could melt
Into a sweet dream!

If you were the lion
And I were the den,
You would be safe
And warm within.

If I were the lock
And you were the key,
Would you like
To open me?

If I were the stamp
And you were the letter,
We could be sent
Far away together.

If I were the saddle
And you were the horse,
I would ride tight
On your back, of course.

If you were the finger
And I were the ring,
I’d stay close forever-
Make you look like a king.

If you were the lawn
And I were the grass-
That’s the same thing
You dumb a**!
